Ridesharing tip: Backing up after dropping riders off

Ridesharing safety tip is to wait until riders leave the vicinity to back up. Riders make it a habit to walk behind vehicles rather than go in front, where they can be seen. Don't back up and risk hitting a rider.

Ridesharing drivers must be extremely careful to not back up while riders are making their way around the backside of the vehicle. It is dangerous for riders to cross blindspots.

Nevertheless, drivers are responsible to take safety precautions to protect their clients/passengers/riders. Keep an eye on riders. Before backing up your vehicle, watch the rearview mirror and turn your head back to check and see if all riders left.

Safety is your #1 concern. Rideshare carefully.
