Wear proper trade dress on vehicles or risk huge $1000 fine

Ridesharing drivers are expected to affix trade dress to their vehicles. According to the Public Utilities Commission, trade dress is mandatory or else ride app drivers risk a $1000 fine fine. If a fine is issued, drivers are solely responsible to pay this amount of $1000. Don't risk a fine by avoiding trade dress.

Whether your trade dress is a Pink Mustache (Lyft), U emblem (U) or SideCar mirror sleeves (SideCar), be sure to show you drive for these ride app companies. Prevent leaving home without any trade dress. Remember that law enforcement won't hesitate to issue these steep fines.

Any airport enforcement can issue a ticket for not displaying proper trade dress. Affix Pink Mustaches to the grill, Uber U's on the right windshield or orange SideCar mirror sleeves on side mirrors.

The following is a trade dress law established by CPUC:

"TNC vehicles must display consistent trade dress (i.e. distinctive signage or display on the vehicle( when providing TNC services that is sufficiently large color-contrasted as to be readable during daylight hours at a distance of 50 feet. The trade dress must be sufficient to allow a passenger, government official, or member of the public to associate a vehicle with a particular TNC (or licensed transportation provider). Acceptable forms of trade dress include, but are not limited to, symbols or signs on vehicle doors, roofs, or grills. Magnetic or removable trade dress is acceptable."
