Lyft launch in NYC was delayed and now launched tonight: Friday Lyft-off in NYC

July 25, 2014

Two weeks ago, Lyft's plan to launch in New York City hit legal roadblocks. The ridesharing company attempted to launch their ridesharing services and were blocked in taking the road.

This temporary snag delayed the inevitable.  As a sign of respect, Lyft ceased their launch party in NYC to possibly avoid burning bridges that would likely set them back.

Two weeks later, Lyft agreed to act in compliance with state laws regarding insurance and license requirements. NYC officials carved out a plan and authorized Lyft to launch on Friday July 25, 2014.

As of right now, NYC residents can see Pink Mustache vehicles taking the roads to give rides in New York City. This Lyft-off started tonight at approximately 7pm EST.

Lyft's Facebook page will likely display images of this Big Apple launch party. Stay tuned as to how this NYC launch worked out for Lyft.
