What a Community Review Flag from Lyft looks like?

Were you flagged for low ratings at Lyft? Are drunk passengers unfairly rating you? Does driving for Lyft pressure you to perform at your best?

If you get a Community Review flag, you better worry about your fate at Lyft? They will deactivate you once you dip below 4.80. We can guarantee this will happen. The e-mail below is from Lyft's Performance Review Department. It is the second warning after the first 25 rides that should not count toward your overall rating.

Why give a flag to a new driver in the first 25 rides? What is the purpose to give a warning to a driver with a 4.77 rating after 100 rides? Lyft has a poor rating system that puts many drivers on edge. Sadly, this rating system may be their downfall if they refuse to listen to their driver's concerns. This ride-sharing company will abandon their drivers after deactivating their driving account.

A real email warning to notify you that your account will get deactivated:

This is the second time our system has automatically flagged your account due to low ratings from your passengers. We sent you an initial driver coaching email on 10/07/13. Unfortunately, your 4.77 star average rating over your 100 most recent rides since the initial coaching email still puts you in the lowest 5 percent of drivers.

This email will serve as your last chance. If your ratings do not improve or if your feedback from passengers falls short of Lyft community standards, you will not be allowed to continue driving.

The first e-mail after giving 25 rides to 20 drunk riders who have the power to deactivate you:

Your account has been automatically flagged for driver coaching because your 4.5 star average rating is on the low end of community standards given your 24 most recent rides. The Lyft community depends on the rating system to ensure a positive experience for both drivers and passengers.

In order to continue to be a member of the Lyft driver community, you must significantly improve your ratings. Please review our welcome videos and Driver FAQ for tips to improve the experience for you and your passengers:
  • Friendly welcome. Pick up as close to the passenger’s request locations as possible; say hello with a smile and a fistbump.
  • Smoothest route. Ask your passengers if they have preferred routes, or use navigation to make the fastest trip.
  • Safe driving. Stay cool and positive while driving; obey traffic rules and speed limits.
  • Like a friend. Offer a phone charge or let them DJ. If they seem up for conversation, ask about their day or find your common interests. One of the best parts of Lyft is the interesting people you meet!
  • Cleanliness and comfort. Make sure you and your car are clean and welcoming, from the inside and out.
We hope these tips help you improve your participation in the Lyft community.

It doesn't matter if drivers go above and beyond. The rating system is so flawed that a rider can get drivers deactivated quickly. Please be concerned with the Lyft star rating system. Don't think you are untouchable and that Lyft will never deactivate you. It will happen if your rating is hovering around a 4.85-4.80. Eventually, a driver will try to activate driver mode and notice their account is now deactivated.

How will you know when you get deactivated? After going into driver mode, you will see "How to become a driver" and your Facebook profile. You will be removed from the Driver's Lounge at Facebook. 3-4 hours later you will receive the following e-mail:
